Nouabalé-Ndoki is proud to be the first national park to receive this ecolabel, which requires the application of the highest possible sustainable standards in terms of park management when working with habituated gorillas.
It is obtained through a comprehensive process of verification of all protocols and their correct application in the field, and requires an annual audit. It proves that the management of Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park follows IUCN guidelines for good practice in great ape tourism, and incorporates the World Council for Sustainable Tourism's criteria for sustainable tourism.
